Why Are Shipping Costs for Medicines Higher Than at Other Webshops?
Shipping medications involves extra care and specific procedures, making it more complex than standard e-commerce orders. We factor in both processing needs and the more involved mailing requirements. This is why you might notice higher shipping fees compared to regular webshops.
Delivery Time After Placing an Order
Delivery times depend on several factors. If you live in the Netherlands and choose Track & Trace shipping via PostNL, your order typically arrives the next day—provided that:
- You place your order before noon (12:00).
- Your payment is confirmed before noon (for example, with instant payment methods).
- Your delivery address is within the Netherlands.
- You order between Monday and Friday.
Orders placed and paid for before noon on weekdays are shipped the same day. Those placed after noon are processed the next working day.
Example Timeline
- Order & payment before 12:00 (Mon-Fri): Usually delivered the next day.
- Order after 12:00 (or on weekends): Shipped the following business day, arriving 1–2 days later.
Ordering from Belgium
For customers in Belgium, shipping generally takes 2 to 4 working days. PostNL does not operate on Sundays and Mondays in some regions, so orders placed on Saturday might only enter the network on Tuesday, potentially arriving Wednesday through Friday. Also note that for Belgian deliveries, someone should be home to accept the parcel.
Shipping to Belgium costs a flat rate of €15.00 due to the higher processing and registered mail fees.
Possible Delivery Delays
Occasionally, PostNL can experience high-volume periods or operational delays. If your Track & Trace code has been issued but does not yet show tracking information, please allow extra time. In most cases, the delay is temporary, and the package updates will appear once PostNL scans the parcel at the next stage in their network.
Tracking Your Order Status
After placing an order, you will receive several status updates by email:
- Order Confirmation – Sent immediately after you place your order.
- Payment Confirmation – Sent once your payment is received and verified.
- Shipping Confirmation – Sent after your order is dispatched.
- Track & Trace Email – If you selected Track & Trace, you’ll receive an email from PostNL with your code (usually before midnight on the shipping day).
If you do not see these emails in your inbox, please check your spam or junk mail folder.
International (Belgium/Germany) Tracking
For orders shipped outside the Netherlands, Track & Trace details may be provided manually. You could receive an additional note or email with your tracking number up to 24 hours after you receive the shipping confirmation.
